Glass Replacement

Help! I have a broken window!

Things that can cause a broken window: Baseball practice, golf practice, rocks, BB gun pellets, birds, extreme heat, extreme cold, elbows, heads, feet, overly excited children, overly excited pets…

Broken windows are a security risk as your home is now a little bit easier to break into, especially if it’s a basement or main floor window.

It can also be a safety hazard if broken glass is accessible to children, pets or clumsy adults.

(We suggest you use duct tape and/or cardboard to secure the broken glass and NEVER touch the glass with bare hands!! Broken glass is VERY sharp and extremely unforgiving!)

If it is winter, you are also letting cold air in through what is now a very inefficient window.

Let us help you get this window fixed as soon as possible!

How long does it take to have my glass replaced?

Step 1: Get a quote.

Step 2: Once you approve our quote, we schedule a time with you to come and get an accurate measurement of your window. (At this point, the price could change, but rarely does, unless something major was missed - like we discover your glass is triple pane when you thought it was double pane, for example.)

Step 3: Now that we have an accurate price, we request a 50% deposit from you, and order your glass from our manufacturer. It will be custom made to fit your window perfectly!

It typically takes 2-3 weeks for glass to be manufactured, but can take up to 4 weeks or more on rare occasion. (We can order glass on a RUSH basis, though it is quite expensive and still takes min. 3-5 days.)

Step 4: As soon as your glass is ready, we schedule a time to come over and install it. The install can take anywhere from 30 min to 2 hours, depending on the type of window you have and how difficult it is to get your old window out. When we’re done, we clean up the area and take your old window with us when we go - it’s like we were never there! At this point, the remaining 50% payment for the glass is due.

That’s it!

If you have any issues later, most glass has a 5 year warranty (we have one type of glass that has a 25 year warranty).

If you have any issues with your glass, call us and we’ll come fix it if we can, or do the warranty claim with the manufacturer for you at no charge!

There is nothing visibly wrong with my windows, I just want them to be more energy efficient

Some windows can be replaced with more efficient glass than the original glass they came with.

With all wood frames and some vinyl frames, we can put a triple pane window where a double pane window once was.

Why would you want to do this?

Triple pane windows have a higher ‘R’ value, which means they insulate better from the hot and cold weather.

They are also quieter - our customers with triple pane windows have consistently reported they do not hear much of what is going on outside!

What this means is you can have better windows without all the expense of new windows.

New glass will cost 1/4 to 1/2 of what new windows will cost and often the window frames themselves are fine. Read more in our FAQ.
